Cath Annabel

Chair

Cath was looking for a new project in retirement when she attended a drama production at the Crucible and was blown away by the performers. When she heard we wanted more trustees, she got in touch straight away and feels, “it was one of my best ever decisions - working with the charity has been a joy and an inspiration.”

As our new Chair of the Board of Trustees Cath says she’s "very excited about what we can achieve together.”

Siobhan Brennan

Trustee

Siobhan is a clinical scientist at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and lecturer at the University of Manchester and specialises in hearing and working with adults with learning disabilities.
Siobhan enjoys running and playing the French horn for the Steel City Concert Band.

Ella Bumby

Trustee

Ella recently moved to Sheffield and is excited to get involved with Under the Stars. Her background is in arts fundraising and community arts, and she currently works in funding and voluntary sector support at a local authority. She is looking forward to bringing this experience to support the development of the organisation – “The creativity and passion of the staff and everyone at Under the Stars is reflected in the completely joyful atmosphere at their workshops and events. I’m really looking forward to being a part of it.”

Sally Hinchcliffe

Trustee

Sally is the Head of English in a SEND Secondary School in Mansfield. Her first encounter with Under the Stars was attending a theatre performance – “I was completely blown away! It was amazing! It just made me want to get involved and support the charity in any way I could.”

Tracy Humphreys

Trustee

Tracy is an ex Civil Servant who worked in a number of strategic HR roles. When she saw an advert for trustees it was a real “ lightbulb moment “ as the great aims of Under The Stars really resonated with her given her lived experience of how involvement with music and drama can truly enhance the lives of those who are non neurotypical . She is really looking forward to working with all the fabulous people that are part of Under the Stars and hopes that her life and work experiences can help to support continued success.

Angela Larkin

Trustee

Ange’s career has always been people orientated and she is now a Group HR Director for 700 people.
Home life surrounds being a mum to two daughters, one who has complex neurodiversity combined with learning difficulties. Family life supporting a young adult who has a love for all things music and theatre, especially ABBA, Musicals and Strictly Come Dancing and a desire to go dancing and “clubbing” has led Ange to Under the Stars and she can’t wait to learn and contribute to this amazing charity as a Trustee.

Liz Lye

Trustee

As a Senior Lecturer and Marketing Communications course leader at Sheffield Hallam University I travelled extensively to teach and recruit students and contributed poetry and papers to Marketing and Consumer Culture conferences and publications. My innovative work on inclusive personal tutoring led to good practice guidelines and I was nominated by studentsfor my Inspirational teaching many times. I have personal experience of neurodiversity through friends and family.
Since retiring in 2024 I have taken up pottery and joined The Dungworth folk Singers. My lifelong interest in books, theatre and cinema continues, including visits to Edinburgh fringe, London and local theatres.
I love the creative spark that runs through all the activities at Under the Stars and am thrilled to join your community.

James Smith

Trustee

James’s cousin is a musician at Under The Stars and James has attended several of our events over the years. When he learned we were looking for Trustees with knowledge around property and finance he leapt at the chance to get involved, having spent 25 years working in new build housing development. Being brand new to trusteeship he’s now gaining experience and acquiring new skills, determined to help the Board deliver our objectives.

Caroline Webb

Trustee

Caroline is recently retired, having working in local government for over 35 years. Having performed at the 2025 'Valentine's Voices' UtS fundraiser, she was really impressed with the enthusiasm and ambition of each of the UtS participants and wanted to become more involved. As a keen supporter of creative arts, particularly theatre and music, she looks forward to contributing to UtS' future work.

Harry Welburn

Trustee

Harry is a retired Youth & Community Worker and now volunteers at Sheffield S6 Foodbank, Sheffield Eagles Foundation & Sheffield Live Community Radio ,where Under The Stars’ Julia Waldron was a programme guest. Harry helped Julia to organise the 'Sheffield Does Sheffield' & 'Valentine’s Voices' fundraisers for Under The Stars. He has attended a range of Under The Stars music & theatre events at the Leadmill, Yellow Arches & the Crucible. Harry wanted to become a Trustee to become even more involved in such a quality arts & music community project.
