Do carers need to pay for a ticket to an event?
Carers need to buy tickets, but if you need two carers, only one needs to pay.
Do you charge for the workshops?
Yes, we charge £68 per day, as recommended by Sheffield City Council.
Will I need to bring my carer to a workshop?
If you need help to take part in activities or personal care, please bring your carer. Unfortunately our small team of staff are unable to provide personal care or one-on-one support at our workshops.
If I want to come to the workshops, what do I need to do?
Go to our workshops page on the website and fill in the short form to check if you are eligible. Alternatively, you can call us on 0114 2331869 or email [email protected]
Do you charge for bank holidays?
No, if your workshop day falls on a bank holiday when we are closed, you will not be charged.
How many weeks per year do the workshops run?
Our workshops run for 50 weeks each year. We close for a two-week break at Christmas.
What days do your workshops run?
Our music and theatre workshops run 4 days a week from 10am to 3pm. We don’t offer any workshops on a Tuesday.
Where do you run your workshops?
Our drama workshops are run at City Limits Dance Studio in Hillsborough, and our music workshops at The Burton Street Project in Hillsborough. You can find directions here.

Do I need to come with someone?
If you usually have someone with you when you go out and about, you do need to bring them along. We can't provide support at the events, but we have volunteers to help if you have any problems. If you're independent, you can come alone.
Are there flashing lights?
No, we don't use strobe or flashing lights.
How much are tickets and how do I buy them?
Tickets are £5 each. Buy them in advance on our website or at the door on the night. Carers need to buy tickets, but if you need two carers, only one pays.
Is there parking at the nightclub?
We recommend parking at the Q‑Park on Durham Road (S10 2JA), directly opposite the Foundry, as street parking is limited. The car park has 32 dedicated disabled bays, though charges apply.
Evening parking from 6pm to 2am costs around £4.40, with lower rates available for shorter stays.
What’s it like at an Under the Stars nightclub?
It's a lively and welcoming place with two music rooms and two bars. There's also a quieter area for chatting with friends. About 300 people attend, so it can get busy.
Do you need a learning disability or be autistic to attend?
No, everyone is welcome. The events are designed for adults with learning disabilities but are enjoyable for everyone.
How can I find out about future events?
I’m nervous about coming for the first time and not knowing anyone.
Many new people come each month, and it's a friendly place. Let a staff member know you're new, and they'll show you around. Staff and volunteers wear bright orange Under the Stars t-shirts.
